In a spectacular showcasing of Polo, an inspirational bond between humans, both – spectating from under the canopied stands and riding on the paspalum-grassed field, and horses is witnessed. A relationship as elemental is that of Trunks Company to the game of Polo; as though it would be the ultimate sport of choice had we been a living, breathing person.
On a
memorable Wednesday evening, Trunks Company had celebrated an undeniable affinity to the
Sport
of Kings along with patrons and players of the game. This was our first-ever Polo Cup,
an
exhilarating exhibition of passion and prowess, hosted at the Mahalaxmi Race Course.
A thrilling affair, The Trunks Company Polo Cup was an exhibition match between the
clubs of Jaipur
and Mumbai; wherein the home team was represented by stellar players in Indian Polo —
Rina Shah,
Maharaja of Jaipur, HRH Padmanabh Singh and Arjuna awardee, Samir Suhag.
Our spectators for this eventful evening were Polo aficionados further fuelled the drama
with their
high spirits. Along with appetizing hors d’oeuvres and delectable cocktails, we also
served our
guests with a dramatic display of modern regality by means of an adrenaline-rushed
match.
As the event made its way into the night, we paid homage to the Sport of Kings by
theatrically
unveiling our creation, ‘The Polo Trunk’ to the audience. Our work of art, crafted over
600 hours of
design thinking and artisanal touch, was admired for its old world charm and timeless
elegance.
In the midst of raising a toast to the occasion, our founder, Paritosh Mehta says,
“Tonight is all
about celebrating the spirit of Polo. In a way, it is also a celebration of Rajasthan,
the region
that continually inspires Trunks Company. We honour this majestic sport with ‘The Polo
Trunk.’”
A tribute to the affinity between our two worlds is manifested in the contours of The Polo Trunk; a work of art hand-made, by weaving treasures with traditions, to commemorate the sport.
